Starting from Seed

Tomatoes are incredibly easy to start from seed. Besides being easy, seeds often offer more variety than nurseries can sometimes stock.

There are two ways to start seed. First, you can start your seedlings in pots. The advantage of pot planted seedlings is that when you plant them in the ground, you can bury them deep, up to their top set of leaves, so that additional roots will grow along the stem.

Or plant seeds directly in the garden. But, be sure to keep the bed constantly moist until germination.

Either way, follow seed pack instructions to the tee. Each seed variety will have it's own set of requirements.
