For In-Ground Flower Beds and Vegetable Gardens

Kellogg Garden Organics Amend Garden Soil for Flowers & Vegetables is designed to be mixed with your native soil for in-ground planting. The nutrient-rich formula has added rice hulls and gypsum to help loosen compacted clay soil, which makes the work in your garden a lot easier. It also improves soil drainage, so water can reach plant roots and your flowers and vegetables grow stronger.

Adding a nutrient-rich garden soil like Amend to your native soil helps with better water penetration, which means you may water less often during the growing season. Like all Kellogg products, Amend is made from natural ingredients with no harmful synthetic chemicals, so you can dig in without protective gloves or garments.

How to Use Amend Garden Soil

  1. For New In-Ground Plantings: Mix Amend into the planting hole at about 1 part Amend to 2 parts native soil. One 2.0 cu. ft. bag transplants 5–6 one-gallon plants or 3 five-gallon plants.
  2. To Prepare an Existing Flower or Vegetable Bed: Spread Amend over the bed and work it into the top few inches of native soil before planting. One 2.0 cu. ft. bag amends about 8 sq ft at a 3-inch depth.
  3. For Groundcover and Bedding Plants: Mix Amend into the planting area at the same ratio. Water in well after planting.
  4. Feed Through the Season: Pair with Kellogg Garden Organics All Purpose Fertilizer for general feeding, or Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Fertilizer for edible crops.
